Isolation and Sacrifice
Isolation—physical, emotional, and psychological—tests the fragility of identity and the yearning for connection. The dangers of isolationist survivalism are contrasted with the benefits of interdependence. Characters trapped by secrets and fear face paranoia and extinction, reinforcing that no species can survive alone. Collaboration across difference is presented as both ethical and existential, and bonds become lifelines despite risks of miscommunication and betrayal.
