Normandy

Normandy is a named naval vessel operating within a national carrier battle group and serving as a fleet-assigned combat/support ship. Command follows a captain-level chain of command aboard ship and Normandy executes at-sea operations under centralized Fleet Command. In the processed material Normandy’s radios and communications are knocked out during a fleet-wide outage, making the ship an affected unit and an operational indicator that drives crisis response at the presidential and fleet-command level.
