A lethal trap system in the sanctuary's walls that fires poison darts at intruders. The darts are launched from recessed wall holes when weight is applied to specific black pressure plates (pressure-sensitive) or when the golden idol is disturbed. Indiana Jones identifies the trap's mechanism by tracing deadly air currents with his torch and carefully navigates the room by stepping only on safe white tiles. During the escape sequence, the darts create a deadly barrage alongside other temple mechanisms (collapsing pits, rolling boulders), contributing to the chaotic atmosphere. Historical evidence of past victims (skeletal remains of Forrestal and Satipo) underscores the trap's deadly effectiveness.
