The Nazi Boarding Rafts are the primary means by which the boarding parties reach the Bantu Wind. These rafts are deployed from the encircling submarines and used to transport heavily armed soldiers to the ship. The rafts symbolize the relentless and coordinated nature of the Nazi assault, as well as the regime’s capacity for surprise and overwhelming force. The Nazi Deck Guns are mounted on the decks of the ten encircling Wolf Submarines, trained directly on the Bantu Wind. Their presence is a silent but chilling threat, enforcing the Nazis’ dominance and the Bantu Wind’s helplessness. The deck guns are not fired, but their aim is sufficient to cow the crew into submission. They symbolize the overwhelming military power of the Nazis and the fragility of the Bantu Wind’s position. Their role in the event is primarily psychological, reinforcing the tension and inevitability of the ambush.

Before: Manned and trained on the Bantu Wind from the decks of the encircling submarines, ready to fire if necessary.

After: Retained in their positions as the submarines depart, their threat lingering even after the ambush is complete.
