A hostile, self‑replicating and self‑modifying Iconian software payload transmitted by an Iconian probe and embedded in the USS Enterprise mainframe. It is detected as incompatible code fragments, corrupted memory blocks and errant process threads that spread through recent memory loads and Yamato logs. The infection forces forensic reads, memory‑wipes, and a full systems shutdown; Data performs an internal purge of his positronic brain to halt propagation. Forensic links trace the code to the Yamato; engineers and command enact quarantines and risky system reboots to save the ship and crew.
