Rana IV Survivors

Two unnamed individuals sheltering inside a ruined structure on Rana IV present as possible last survivors of a planet-wide holocaust. Starfleet leadership treats them as humanitarian priorities: medical triage, psychological evaluation, and sources of crucial eyewitness knowledge. Dialogue from Picard, Beverly, and Troi frames their condition as fragile, their humanity ambiguous to empathic senses, and their presence a moral touchstone that escalates the away team's mission from reconnaissance to rescue.
