Uxbridge Survivors

An elderly couple of botanists identified by the crew as the Uxbridges, they survive alone in an intact house on a razed world. Largely self-sufficient but running on failing resources, they present practical ecological knowledge and a tenacious habit of care for their immediate environment. The command team treats them with guarded compassion—offering assistance while keeping them under surveillance—after Troi finds them psychically unreadable, making the couple a focal, enigmatic presence whose lived expertise and vulnerability complicate the surrounding mystery.
