Twenty First Century Guests

A small group of twenty‑first century individuals revived aboard the Enterprise and delegated to Commander Riker’s care. Captain Picard labels them a distracting “human problem” and orders they be kept out of the bridge’s operational flow while the senior staff handle a separate crisis. They remain offstage in the processed material—uncertain, culturally displaced, and treated as dependents whose presence generates logistical and emotional work for the crew.
