Five Pounds Coin

A single, conventional coin the Doctor physically sets on the bar as payment. Crisp and metallic, it belongs to the local currency system but appears entirely mundane compared to the Doctor’s temporal payment. Pat accepts it without question, but the coin’s true alien value only becomes clear when the Doctor later produces an unconventional heap of temporal artifacts, contrasting the simplicity of human money with the weight of temporal displacement.
