The cave-in buries the Doctor under fractured chunks of limestone and gritty shale, their irregular edges jutting at precarious angles. Loose stones skitter down with each futile lift of his arm, piling against his torso as the cavern groans. The air thickens with dust that catches the dim glow of Gebek’s flickering sonic lance, its beam carving a narrow vein through the rubble. When the Doctor finally wriggles free, he leaves behind a cavity just wide enough for the miners’ combined efforts.
