When Chang’s boot taps the stone, a resonant hollow echoes back, revealing the trapdoor beneath. Leela’s stomach tightens as the stone slides aside with a grind of centuries-old mortar, exposing the dark passage below and the sounds of Weng-Chiang’s interrogation bleeding upward from below.
