Sallah's Nine Children

boisterous playful mischievous united joyful
Sallah and Fayah's nine children (ages roughly 4–18), a boisterous, affectionate, and playful group who appear across multiple Cairo scenes. At their Old Cairo home they create pandemonium at a welcoming family dinner — hiding a monkey, chattering, bowing to Marion and kissing her cheek — which eases household tension. Later the same children burst into a smoke-filled Cairo bar and swarm Indiana Jones with hugs and noise (two of the smallest leaping into his lap), distracting Belloq and Nazi henchmen long enough for Indy to escape; they then pile into their father's truck outside as Sallah gestures to them amid grief, declaring them proof that life endures.
